SPA provides artists and members of the public with a dynamic center for the visual arts through: (1) presenting more than 28 original exhibits that show a wide variety of arts and crafts (free admission); (2) creating opportunities for people to interact with working artists; and (3) teaching a broad spectrum of arts and craft and offering opportunities to all, with a commitment to children, special needs populations, the elderly, and others in need throughout the year. More Ways to Support SPA:SPA Building Repair Fund Years ago, during conversations with several major building managers we were urged to start a Building Repair Fund because many components used in a major renovation project like ours require replacement once we reach out 18-20th year. Our good intentions were challenged by several major issues: the international pandemic and its related effects on our bottom line and the occurrence of 3 major floods in 12 months beginning July, 2023, and associated repairs. (We continue to work to fortify areas of our historic foundation.) Your donations to the SPA Building Repair Fund will be greatly beneficial to us as we tackle the large responsibility of managing an historic structure constructed in the late 1880's and renovated by us in the late 1990’s. SPA Endowment Fund
We at SPA have always had a creative gleam in our eyes. A small endowment will produce reliable unrestricted funds to protect SPA during economically turbulent times and offer flexible funds that let us respond to opportunities in a timely manner. More than 25 years ago, we took on a project that some thought was implausible. How could a band of inexperienced artists complete a major downtown historic renovation project destined otherwise for the wrecking ball or something similarly unimaginative? Then, how could this same band of artists start a new regional arts organization from scratch? It took a certain kind of boldness to create and develop SPA.
