Virtual Exhibit:
Prints and Photomontages by Wendy James on view through October 1, 2021 SPA is pleased to present a virtual exhibit of giclee prints and black and white photomontages by Wendy James. James' colorful giclee prints (reproductions of original paintings) depict vibrant, urban scenes and landscapes. For her black and white photomontages, James adopts more of a surrealist approach. James says: “I have always had a fascination with dreams. Many of my black and white photomontages are surreal environments ... I play with distorting perspective, often flipping between birds and worm view. I love the strong angles of human-made forms matched with endless skies. My process involves pouring through old negatives and new digital images. I use Photoshop to blend unlikely combinations. I try to match edges seamlessly to make the unreal more believable.” All work in this virtual exhibit has been donated by the artist to raise funds for Studio Place Arts. 100% of your artwork purchase benefits SPA programs.
