The SPA Annual Members Show
provides a spectacular art shopping experience on all 3 floors of the
SPA building. There is an outstanding variety of work - ceramics,
paintings, photography, textiles, glass, woodworking and more - offered
by more than 100 artists and craftspersons.
Reception: Saturday, November 19, 6-8 PM
We will be honoring SPA's 5th birthday at the reception. Join us for
birthday cake, fabulous art by more than 100 local artists and craft
persons, friendship, and live music. Mary Fifield and Jose Ritter will
sing Ritter originals and select covers from 6-7 PM. Happy Birthday,

by 11 artists involved in the Annual Members Show in the lobby of the
Barre Opera House (BOH) from November 10-December 31, 2005.

For the fifth year, area artists share their most compelling stone
sculptures and assemblages. The show includes paintings, etchings and
photographs that celebrate the beautiful qualities of stone.

Couture. This is his statement:
The issue that I chose to identify is that of immigration in the U.S. I
feel that America has shut its doors on immigrants and made it very
hard for foreigners to live here. I chose to use the Statue of Liberty
for my image, which is a symbol of freedom in our country. I put a 'No
Vacancy' sign on it. On the base of the Statue of Liberty, it says
"send me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe
free", but many Americans want to shut out immigrants which I believe
is wrong.
