The following are major art shows
scheduled for the Main Gallery at Studio Place Arts (SPA) during 2010.
See below for instructions on how to submit artwork to SPA for

Rock Solid
Our 10th Annual Stone Show
This outstanding annual show showcases stone sculptures and assemblages
by area artisans. While the emphasis is sculptural works, the
show includes a small number of paintings and other works that depict
the beautiful qualities of stone.

Show Dates: October 5 – November 6, 2010
Annual Members Show:
Celebrate at SPA!
Member artists of SPA are invited to share a grouping of their work for
a major retail show during the holiday gift-giving season – our
Annual Members Show called “Celebrate.” A beautiful,
diverse selection of fine art and crafts will be displayed creatively
on all 3 floors of the SPA building. There’s really nothing
like it in central Vermont.
Mark Your Calendar
Help us plan for our Annual Members Show. Contact SPA by October
8, 2010, if you are interested in showing a selection of your work in
the show. (Please Note: Because of space limitations in the
SPA galleries and very limited storage, we ask artisans to bring a
small grouping of items at the beginning of the show. SPA will
contact artisans as inventories need to be replenished.)
The opening reception for the show will be on Saturday, November 20,
4-6 PM. The first major drop-off time for our show is Monday,
November 8 and Tuesday, November 9 (9AM-5PM). Artwork received at
this time will be displayed in the Main, Second, and Third Floor
Galleries. In early December, we will expand the show to include
our first floor Classroom.

The Dark Side
There is a dark side to almost everything. The idea of darkness and the
dark side of the world we live in resonates in some way for nearly
everyone. We might think of the dark side with fear or anger or
simply be brave enough to observe and reveal what often tries to stay
hidden. The beauty of the dark side and darkness will also be
considered. Multi-media invited. (main floor gallery)

When No One is
Looking
What do we do when no one is looking? What do others do when they
don’t think anyone is watching? This multi media, group
show will explore the idea of private and hidden moments, thoughts,
deeds and dreams. (second floor gallery)

Exhibit Dates: January 18 – February 26, 2011
Flying High
Look up – is it a bird, a plane, or …This is a multi-media
show with artwork hanging or flying from the ceiling. Also, there
will be a variety of works on the walls that show flight:
airplanes, balloons, baseballs, stars, hawks, possibly certain super
heroes, and more. It’s liftoff time. (Main Floor

Submitting
to SPA
Applications
should include:
- Artist name and contact
information
- Description of proposed
work (dimensions, materials, date, retail price [65% to artist])
- Images (send digital images
via email [info@studioplacearts.com] – please use jpeg format and
limit file size to less than 3MB total, slides, copies of drawings,
prints, other relevant materials) of work. Please include a written
summary of this information and label the images/slides
for ease of review. Include dimensions,
material, date & retail price.
- SASE for return of materials
